Need Vs Want

Hello fellow mama’s. What I want to talk about tonight is I have to or I need to vs I want to.

I just recently started a meetup group with a few fellow moms and we get together and talk about weight loss and enjoy coffee on an early Saturday morning with no kiddos. When we were talking I heard them say that they HAVE to do something or they NEED to do something. I heard multiple times, I have to eat this way. I need to go exercise. I immediately asked them how does that feel to think I HAVE to go exercise? I was explaining to them that when I think I HAVE to go do something. I have to go exercise. It feels really icky to me. It feels very like dreadful. It’s the last thing that I want to do. If I feel like I NEED to do something, but now if I change it around with I WANT to go work out, it feels so much more empowering. It feels a little bit more exciting.

I don’t have to do anything that we don’t want to do. I want you to think about when you think I have to go to work.You really don’t. There are people in this world who don’t go to work. You don’t have to do anything. You don’t have to take care of your kids. You don’t have to lose weight. You don’t have to go work out. You don’t have to do any of that. There’s people who don’t take care of their kids. There’s people who don’t go workout. So, if you can turn it around with what is the truth of I want to do this stuff. A lot of people will say, “I have to go to work

because I have to pay my bills. For me I want to pay my bills because I want to have clean water. I want to have heat and I want to have electricity and all the things that go along with paying my bills. So, no. You don’t have to do anything. It’s the same with taking care of our kids. You don’t have to take care of your kids, but you want to take care of your kids because you love them. You couldn’t imagine doing it any other way. If we think I have to do something it puts us in a negative State of Mind versus I want to do something. When we want to do something we take back all of our power versus I need or I have to do something which completely dis-empowers us.

That is the difference between I need to do something and I have to do something and I want to do something. Next time you find yourself saying I need to do this or I have to do this, I want you to turn it around with I want to. Just see how that feels. See if you take a little bit different action and you get a little bit different of a result. I hope you guys all enjoyed this episode.
